Top cities with the most transplants entering summer 2023

With major cities growing to max capacity from coast to coast, it’s no wonder that residents are looking for new places to live. Whether it’s for work, housing, better schools, or all of the above, each city listed below is attracting new people every day.

1. Georgetown, Texas

With a population of over 92,000 and ranked 44th largest city in Texas, Georgetown is likely the fastest-growing city in the United States with a growth rate of 10.54% which may be due to its proximity to Austin, which is a cultural epicenter for millennials. It’s an interesting city in its own right, with Victorian architecture and numerous nearby caves to explore.

Georgetown has seen a population growth of 35.08% since the most recent census, which recorded a population of 68,227 in 2020.

2. Leander, Texas

While it hasn’t grown as quickly as Georgetown, Leander is another city close to Austin with a population of over 81,000 with an annual growth rate of 10.1% and ranked 49th largest city in Texas that has seen significant growth in recent years. In fact, before Georgetown City, Leander was the number one fastest-growing city in the United States.

Leander has seen a population increase of 33.47% since the most recent census, which recorded a population of 60,965 in 2020.

3. Queen Creek, Arizona

Queen Creek is the third on our list, which is significant when you consider the fact that Queen Creek didn’t even exist just 30 years ago. It’s likely flourishing because it’s just 40 minutes outside of Phoenix.

With a population of over 78,000 with an annual growth rate of 8.87% and ranked 15th in Arizona construction is running rampant, which suggests the city intends to take in as many people as possible. Queen Creek has seen an increase of 29.03% from the 60,942 that resided which was reported in the last Census reporting in 2020.

4. Buckeye, Arizona

Buckeye City’s population has recently increased by 8.57% (putting it over 119,000 people) ranking 11th in Arizona, which is likely because it’s another cheaper alternative to Phoenix. Phoenix is only 45 minutes away, so Buckeye is likely attracting residents who don’t mind a bit of a commute.

Buckeye has seen an increase of 27.99% from the 93,314 that resided which was reported in the last Census reporting in 2020.

5. New Braunfels, Texas

New Braunfels is between San Antonio and Austin, Texas. At only 50 minutes away from Austin and 35 minutes from San Antonio, it’s a smart choice for anyone who routinely commutes to both.

It’s not surprising that the area has increased by a whopping 56% in the past ten years. It’s one of the fastest-growing areas in the country with an 8.25% annual increase and a 26.86% increase from when the most recent census was recorded with a population of 91,319 back in 2020 and is not showing any signs of slowing down in the future. It currently has a population of over 115,000 people which ranks it as the 32nd largest city in Texas.

6. Fort Myers, Florida

With a population annual increase of 6.82% and over 105,000 people living in Fort Myers, it’s the 22nd largest city in Florida and the sixth fastest-growing city in the United States. While it’s home to the 3rd U.S. infantry, it’s also a bustling city with numerous restaurants, nightclubs, and shopping areas, and is home to many young families, too.

Fort Myers has seen a population increase of 21.89% since the most recent census, which recorded a population of 86,354 in 2020.

7. Casa Grande, Arizona

Casa Grande City has a population of over 65,000 with a population annual increase of 6.19% and is ranked 18th in Arizona which is not surprising because it’s between Tucson and Phoenix. Named after the Casa Grande Ruins, Casa Grande is home to many commuters.

While it once may have been an agricultural community not too long ago, it’s quickly changing year to year. Casa Grande has seen an increase of 19.75% from the 54,335 that resided which was reported in the last Census reporting in 2020.

8. Maricopa, Arizona

Maricopa City is another area that is receiving spillover from Phoenix, AZ. In fact, the area saw a population increase of over 38,000 people in recent years. Currently, the population is around 70,000 with an annual growth rate of 6.07% making it the 17th largest city in Arizona.

While most residents are new to the area, clearly Maricopa is an up-and-coming city that will eventually merge with Phoenix in the years ahead. Maricopa has seen a population increase of 19.32% since the most recent census, which recorded a population of 59,133 in 2020.

9. North Port, Florida

North Port City has a population of over 89,000 people making it the 29th largest city in Florida with an annual growth rate of 5.55% and appears to be attracting young families into the area. It’s between Tampa and Fort Myers (which we discussed above) and is a relatively new city in Florida.

Because of this, the architecture is modern and the infrastructure is up-to-date. It’s also close to many public beaches and has warm temperatures year-round. North Port has seen a population increase of 17.58% since the most recent census, which recorded a population of 75,816 in 2020.

10. Spring Hill, Tennessee

It’s a family-friendly area with affordable housing and a strong economy. In fact, new jobs and industries arrive every year.
