Michigan has started renovating dilapidated properties as part of a statewide effort to revitalize neighborhoods suffering from huge supplies of distressed homes and listings of short sales. The renovated properties will then be sold to qualified homeowners and investors.

Foreclosures in Wells Fargo and Distressed Home Numbers Rise in 3Q

The number of foreclosed properties, including foreclosures in Wells Fargo, was higher for the 2010 third quarter in several areas of Michigan. A total of 206 metropolitan areas were surveyed for the quarter, with the Grand Rapids-Wyoming region of the state occupying the 55th ranking nationwide in terms of total filings for the July-September period.
